¡Escapada Británica: ¡Casa de Huéspedes con VISTA AL MAR INCREÍBLE!
¡Ay, Dios mío! Let's talk about ¡Escapada Británica: ¡Casa de Huéspedes con VISTA AL MAR INCREÍBLE! because, frankly, I just got back and my head's still spinning in the best possible way. This place… it's a vibe. And I have opinions. Buckle up, buttercups, because we're going on a rollercoaster of British charm, sea views, and probably a few minor grumbles (because, let's be honest, no place is perfect).
The Hook: Why You NEED This Escapada
First things first: that vista al mar increíble? They ain't lying. Forget those perfectly curated Instagram shots; this is the real deal. Imagine waking up, throwing open the windows, and getting slapped in the face (figuratively, of course!) with the freshest, most invigorating Atlantic air. The ocean stretches out forever, and the light… chefs kiss. It's the kind of view that makes you forget all about your anxieties and just… breathe.
Accessibility - A Few Bumps in the Road
Okay, so let's be real. This isn't a fully accessible paradise. They do have elevator access, which is a massive win, right? But I’d call the hotel directly to make sure they can fulfill your specific needs because, let's face it, some of these older buildings… they can be tricky. Knowing they've got Facilities for disabled guests is something, but I'd ask detailed questions.
The Room & Amenities: Cozy Charm, With a Side of… Well, Read On
My room (and, I'm assuming, all the rooms) came with a free Wi-Fi in all rooms! Thank the heavens! And, yes, it's actually free. No sneaky extra charges. Bless them. The Internet was decent. Also, they have the internet access – wireless.
The room itself? Think "charming, slightly faded grandeur." The air conditioning worked like a dream (a must for the summer months!). Bathrobes were provided, which, let's be honest, adds a touch of luxury. Amenities like Coffee/tea maker and complimentary tea, plus free bottled water are a lifesaver. Blackout curtains, a desk perfect for planning adventures, and a seating area.
Now, the imperfections… The bathroom, though private, was a bit… compact. Still, it had everything you needed (toiletries, shower, and even a mirror). It did the job, but don't expect a spa-style experience in there.
One morning, I was trying to get a quick photo of the sunrise, and the window that opens, let’s just say, it did not want to do so. I had to wrastle with it for a solid 10 mins. But, it opened! And oh boy!
Dining, Drinking & Snacking: A Culinary Adventure (Mostly) with Some Hiccups
The breakfast [buffet] was… okay. It’s not what I’d call Michelin-star quality, but there was enough to keep a grumbling stomach quiet. The Western breakfast options (eggs, bacon, the usual suspects) were pretty reliable. They also have Asian breakfast, which seems interesting. There were definitely delicious options. The breakfast service was friendly and the dining room had a cracking view.
The restaurant itself (it’s also a bar) had a lovely vibe. The a la carte in restaurant menu was a good starting point, and the international cuisine in restaurant definitely had offerings. They have desserts in restaurant, which are the stars in my book. I’d say, the salad in restaurant, were also great! However, one evening, I ordered a supposed "vegetarian curry" and it arrived with… well, meat. (Oops). The waiter was super apologetic and sorted it out fast, but it made me triple-check every dish after that. The coffee/tea in restaurant was decent, but nothing to write home about.
They also have a poolside bar, which is an absolute must. Sipping a cocktail with that view? Heaven. And the snack bar is a lifesaver for those mid-afternoon cravings.
Things to Do & Ways to Relax: The Highs and the Sighs
This is where ¡Escapada Británica really shines. The swimming pool [outdoor] is gorgeous, and the pool with view is just… wow. I spent a whole afternoon just floating around, gazing at the ocean. Bliss!
They have a Spa/sauna but I was too busy just staring at the sea to pay much attention to anything else. But, they offer a massage, the gym/fitness and have a Spa, a steamroom. All of them are worth checking out if you have the time.
My biggest regret? Not using the foot bath. Next time, I swear!
Cleanliness & Safety: A Sigh of Relief
In these times, we all worry about safety. ¡Escapada Británica seems to take this seriously. The anti-viral cleaning products were on point, and the rooms seemed to be thoroughly cleaned. They have daily disinfection in common areas, and rooms sanitized between stays. The food are Safe dining setup with Sanitized kitchen and tableware items. They also have Hand sanitizer, and Staff trained in safety protocol. All of this made me feel safe.
Services and Conveniences: The Good, the Bad, and the Very British
The concierge was amazing. They gave me the lowdown on the best local spots and even helped me book a taxi. They have luggage storage, which is a bonus. The daily housekeeping was efficient and discreet – always a plus.
They have facilities for disabled guests, a laundry service, and dry cleaning.
I did notice the currency exchange was a bit of a rip-off, so be warned! They also have a convenience store, which is handy for forgotten essentials.
For the Kids
Family/child friendly? Yes, absolutely! They have Kids facilities and can arrange babysitting service. So, a great choice for families.
Getting Around: The Potholed Road to Freedom
They have a car park [free of charge]. Airport transfer is available.
The Verdict: Book It (With a Few Caveats!)
Would I recommend ¡Escapada Británica? Absolutely! The view alone is worth the price of admission. It’s a charming, characterful place with a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, a few imperfections, and a view that's a straight-up mood booster.

¡Descubre el Paraíso Gastronómico en la Torre de Galizano!¡Ay, Dios mío! Here's my attempt at a Beach View Guesthouse itinerary, all up in a glorious mess of Spanish words and human-ness:
Beach View Guesthouse: ¡Un Desastre Planificado (A Planned Disaster!)
(Prepárense, amigos. This is going to be… a ride!)
Día 1: Llegada y El Encuentro con el Mar (Arrival and Meeting the Sea – Sort of)
14:00 (ish): Okay, so the train was delayed. Again. Apparently, "the wrong kind of leaves on the line" is a legitimate, albeit infuriating, excuse in the UK. Arrivo, más o menos. Beach View Guesthouse, here I… hope you are. I’m praying the address is correct. My Spanish is good, my sense of direction is TERRIBLE. (And Google Maps is judging me HARD right now).
14:30: ¡Llegada! Found it! Beach View looks… well, charming. In a sort of "old lady's cardigan" kind of way. The door knocker is shaped like a starfish. Adorable. Immediately, I feel this place's quirky vibe.
15:00: Check-in. The owner, bless her heart, is named Brenda and looks like she just stepped out of a Miss Marple novel (minus the murder, I think). She's also a fountain of local gossip: "Oh, you're here for the sea air, are you? It does wonders for the complexion, you know… though the seagulls are dreadful this year. Bit of a mess, really." Brenda gives me the keys to my room - a tiny little space that feels like it used to be a broom closet. But, hey, it has a sea view! From, like, a porthole.
16:00: The Big Sea Moment! Walking towards there, and I stumble upon a little beachfront cafe the moment I arrive, which felt like fate, it looked like I was in the right place. I grab an ice cream. I mean, it's obligatory when you arrive at the seaside, right? The sea isn't exactly turquoise, more a grumpy grey, but the air smells of salt and… something else. Something vaguely fishy. After a walk, with a small amount of seaweed on my shoes, I head back to the guesthouse.
18:00: Dinner. Brenda's cooking! (Wish me luck.) Apparently, it's "hearty home cooking." Praying it's NOT overly "hearty."
20:00: The room is small, so I venture out. I met a very nice couple who were also staying there. They were an Italian couple, who had brought their own food. I am starting to feel a bit homesick. I head to the beach, to look at the sea. It is dark, I can't see anything.
Día 2: La Aventura del "Fish and Chips" y el Teatro (The Fish and Chips Adventure and Theater)
09:00: Breakfast! Brenda's "hearty" breakfast. Eggs, sausages, toast. I feel like I just ate a small cow. I'm not even sure what half of this is, but it is "hearty."
10:00: Fish and Chips Quest! This is essential, right? Every single person at the guesthouse has said this. I am sent to a place that seems to be the most popular, but it is closed. I find another place, which also is surprisingly closed. I ask around and I am sent to a third place that is also closed! "Is this a trick?" I ask myself. I sit down and eat a sandwich.
14:00: The sea is not as clear as it may look in postcards, but it is alright. I enjoy walking along the beach.
17:00: Feeling lazy, I sit down in a cafe. I sip coffee, which tastes amazing. I am enjoying the peace.
19:00: Theatre! The local theatre is putting on a play. I am excited, but I remember my limited ingles.
21:00: The play was hilarious. I understood most of it, thanks to my limited ingles. I meet the Italian couple again. We talk about how amazing the play was.
Día 3: Despedida con un Suspiro (Farewell with a Sigh)
09:00: Hearty breakfast. It must be the secret to longevity in this town. And it's actually tasty.
10:00: A last walk along the beach. I sit on a bench and watch the waves. I feel the need to come back, but also needing to go home.
12:00: I meet up with the Italian couple, and we talk again.
14:00: I leave. The train actually arrives on time!
(And that’s that, amigos. Beach View Guesthouse: a chaotic but oddly charming slice of British seaside life. Would I go back? Maybe. Definitely if Brenda's cooking is involved!)
¡NO! ¡En absoluto! La playa es un clásico, por supuesto. Paseos, baños (¡si el tiempo acompaña!), tomar el sol... ¡perfecto!
¡Ve! ¡Anímate! ¡Y disfruta! ¡No te arrepentirás!
