¡Ay dios mío, Mauritania! cough… ¡Mauricio! Perdón, la emoción… LUX* Grand Baie… Sólo el nombre ya me hace sentir como si me hubieran puesto champán en vena. Y después de esta aventura, bueno… ¡Vamos a ello! Porque, señores, esto no es un hotel, es… intenta encontrar la palabra… ¡Una fantasía! O, al menos, una fantasía con sus pequeñas grietas, como todo en esta vida…
Empecemos por lo importante, la accesibilidad.
- Wheelchair accessible: ¡Sí! Y eso es un GRAN alivio. Mi tía abuela, Emilia (que tiene más años que Matusalén, pero sigue con una energía envidiable) estuvo conmigo y, ¡oye!, ningún problema para ella. Rampas, ascensores… Todo pensado. Facilities for disabled guests: Parece que el equipo de LUX* se ha dado cuenta de que la accesibilidad no es un lujo, sino una necesidad. Bravo.
- Accessibility General: Ojo, que esto es importante. No todo es perfecto. Algunos rincones, como ciertas zonas de la playa (arenita, ya sabes), pueden ser un poco complicados. Pero en general, la cosa pinta bien.

¡A COMER! Porque si hay algo que me pone, es la comida. LUX* Grand Baie no decepciona… del todo. Vamos por partes:
- Restaurants y Lounges: ¡Uf, la cantidad! Restaurants, Bar, Coffee shop, Poolside bar, Snack bar: Tienes para aburrir. A la carte in restaurant y Buffet in restaurant: Depende del día y del hambre. El buffet es… respiracion profunda… ¡de escándalo! Literalmente te entra hambre de sólo verlo. El sushi, los croissants… ¡ay, los croissants! International cuisine in restaurant y Asian cuisine in restaurant: Viaje culinario asegurado. Y, por supuesto, Vegetarian restaurant, que para mí, que soy medio vege, es un plus. Alternative meal arrangement: Si tienes alguna alergia o necesidad especial, te lo solucionan sin problemas. ¡Un 10! Además, una copa al lado de la piscina… Poolside bar… ¡Bendito sea!
- Dining, drinking, and snacking: Breakfast [buffet], Western breakfast, Asian breakfast: Un desayuno de reyes. Pero… ¿la perfección? ¡No! A veces el servicio es un poco lento. Y ese día que pedimos un café con leche… ¡llegó tibio! (Aquí es donde Emilia se enfadó un poco, pero bueno, es Emilia). Room service [24-hour]: Un puntazo. Para esos antojos nocturnos… o para los más vagos como yo.

I attempted to buy a souvenir, but my French (or lack thereof) caused a major communication breakdown. I ended up with something… not quite sure what it is, but hey, it's a memory!
- Water Sports (Attempted Grace - round 2): Tried some water sports. I thought I was a pro, but the waves had other ideas. There were many laughs, and I may have swallowed a bit of ocean.

¡Ufff! Las habitaciones… ¡son impresionantes! Y, sorprendentemente, **no tanto Photoshop**. Bueno, a lo mejor un poquito, eh… pero en general, son CLASE MUNDIAL. Yo me alojé en una suite con vistas al mar y… ¡casi lloro de emoción! Literalmente. La cama era como una nube, el baño… ¡un paraíso de mármol! Y la terraza… ¡uf! Perfecta para tomarte el café de la mañana (o el gin tonic de la tarde, ¡o ambos!). Eso sí, ojo con dejar la puerta abierta, que los bichillos mauricianos son rápidos y se meten a la habitación como Pedro por su casa. Yo me llevé un buen susto un día con una cucaracha enorme… pero, ¡ay!, la vida es así.
¿Hay diferentes tipos de habitaciones? ¿Cuál recomiendas?
Sí, claro que sí. Hay de todo, como en botica. Desde habitaciones normales (que son cualquier cosa menos normales, ya te aviso) hasta suites que son más grandes que mi piso. Si quieres un poco más de espacio y no te quieres gastar un riñón, las *Junior Suites* son una muy buena opción. Tienen unas vistas increíbles, y son muy espaciosas. Si puedes, **¡pilla una con vistas al mar!** Merece la pena la inversión. Pero, la verdad, hasta la habitación más sencilla es una maravilla. Lo importante es estar allí, ¿no? Y, ¡ojo! Pide una planta alta, para no oír los ruidos de los niños correteando por el pasillo (a menos que seas un niño, claro).
¿La comida es buena? Porque he visto fotos de esos buffets y… me entra el hambre.
¡Ay, la comida! **¡La comida… es para morirse!** Literalmente. Vas a comer hasta reventar. Los buffets son un peligro. Un peligro delicioso. Hay de todo lo que puedas imaginar y más. Desde sushi fresco hasta currys exóticos, pasando por postres que te harán cuestionar tus propósitos de Año Nuevo (¡y estamos en julio!). El restaurante principal, el Palm Court, es una maravilla. Y las cenas a la carta… ¡ay, las cenas a la carta! Prueba el restaurante Beach Rouge, con vistas al mar y el ambiente perfecto para una comedia romántica. Eso sí, ¡reserva con antelación! Y no te olvides de probar los cócteles… ¡son la perdición! Yo engordé tres kilos, pero no me arrepiento. ¡Nunca! La experiencia gastronómica es sublime y para recordar.
¿Hay opciones para vegetarianos/veganos? Soy un poco… peculiar con la comida.
¡Absolutamente! En el LUX* Grand Baie se preocupan mucho por las intolerancias y preferencias alimentarias. Hay un montón de opciones vegetarianas y veganas, y siempre están dispuestos a adaptar los platos a tus necesidades. Pregunta al personal, son encantadores y super serviciales. Yo, que no soy vegano ni vegetariano, probé algunos platos y… ¡me sorprendieron! ¡Riquísimos! Así que, despreocúpate, vas a comer como un rey/reina, aunque seas un poco… “especial”.
¿Qué se puede hacer en el hotel? ¿Hay algo más que tumbarse en la playa? (Aunque eso ya me convence...)
¡Ah, no! Tú piensas que es solo tumbarse en la playa… ¡y no! (Aunque, sí, puedes pasar días enteros en la playa y ser feliz como una perdiz). Pero el LUX* Grand Baie tiene un montón de actividades. Hay deportes acuáticos (¡alquila un kayak y explora la costa!), clases de yoga (¡intenta no reírte cuando te caigas!), gimnasio (¡para compensar los buffets!), y hasta un club infantil (si vas con niños, claro). Pero lo mejor, para mí, fue… **¡la piscina infinita!** Madre mía, la piscina… Literalmente, me pasé horas y horas allí, nadando, tomando el sol, leyendo un libro… (sí, logré leer un libro entero).
