Finding the Green Tree Inn – Xinyi Square branch. The reviews said "budget-friendly." "Minimalist" would be a kinder term. The room? I saw a woman in what appeared to be full-body pajamas, a man riding a scooter with a dog perched on his lap like a furry hood ornament, and…wait. What was that? Was that a squat toilet? Oh, yes, it was. In a public restroom. My initial reaction: sheer, unadulterated fear. I am NOT prepared. My second idea: Maybe I should've paid attention to the "Learn Mandarin" app.
- 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: The "Relaxing" Nap: Back to the Green Tree Inn. Time for a nap. A required nap. Hopefully, no bedbugs. I feel like if there is bedbugs, is going to be a problem.

Would I go back? Maybe. After a very long nap and a lot of Pepto-Bismol. But for now, I'm back. And I'm happy to be home.
